The second day of the Positivus music festival was a blur.
After a cold night, the sun was unexpectedly hot in the afternoon.
The set by American singer-songwriter John Grant (who lives in Iceland and who isn't well known in the US) was fab, followed by the perky British Charli XCX.
Imagine Dragons put on such an amazing and focused show that it later prompted surprise that they aren't already a huge stadium act in America!
Sigur Ros was the headliner, with people not only filling the area in front of the stage, but sitting between the pine trees on the hillside between the stage and the sea.
The DJ driven afterparty at the "I Love You" stage went until 9 a.m. the following morning, when the powers that be decided that it was time to turn off the music and let people get some sleep!

First Day at Positivus, 2013
It's 2:30 in the morning on this festival on the edge of the Gulf of Riga. The wind is blowing, the temps have dropped, and beachside activities have been cancelled.
But otherwise the festival looks fuller than ever, with more things to do.
Crystal Castles played, as did Noah and the Whale. The super cute Estonian singer IIris played, with a visit from the Latvian duo Instrumenti.
